True, you can target the leader with 100c, and it works just fine, but target it with a normal general, just in case you can not retreat. I did it with the Vet. and then even after repeatedly clicking on retreat, he went into the battle with the leader. I lost 100C and 2 hours of my time, while waiting for the Vet. to recuperate. BB battling is completely illogical and BUGGY. THE GAME SUCK!!
as in pretend to attack c26 with 100C to get intercepted by the other 2 towers ; can do it with 2 generals each with 100C simultaneously, they go get busy on the towers while the veteran hits on main target, the c26
the generals will follow a crazy route but will do the job : they`ll go in that big yard, get intercepted signal, get out of the yard back the way they came in and then follow that old route around the yards fence

U can target Leader 26 with 100C, and will be intercepted by 21, 22, 23, 24. After that u just need to retreat it.
